Block Paving Driveway and Steps, Dartford

Misha got in touch with us to take care of her cracked concrete driveway, but also to create a much needed set of stairs for easier access to her front door.

Misha’s home in Dartford, Kent is built on an incline, meaning her front door lies significantly higher than her driveway. In recent years Misha had become unhappy with the old cracked concrete steps and driveway and sought us out to provide her with a complete overhaul.

The old steps had descended sideways from the front door, making access awkward however she parked her car in her driveway. She wanted a simple set of steps that would face right out, allowing her to park comfortably beside them.

After removing the old driveway and the rather intensive task of removing the concrete steps we were able to set about levelling the foundations for the new steps and driveway.

We built the new steps and space around the front door first to allow for access, using brickwork that would match the new walls either side of the driveway. Indian sandstone patio paving was used, both for its durable qualities and to provide a close match to the new block paving.

Once the steps and border walls were in place the block paving driveway itself was ready to be installed, using contrasting blocks to compliment the brickwork and patio paving on the steps.

Misha finally as a beautiful new driveway with ease of access to her new home, and safe in the knowledge it will last for years to come.
